In 1988 two international chefs embarked on a crusade with a simple aim; to create a series of recipes that were delicious, healthy and affordable.
At that time both chefs were living and working in idyllic Maleny, located in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. They decided that the result of their culinary endeavours would reflect the purity of the beautiful pristine environment in which they lived.
Over a period of several years a range of superb gourmet recipes evolved. Each one successfully reflecting the purity of Maleny. This means that each of the recipes developed back then, is based on ripe seasonal fruit and herbs, low in fats and devoid of impurities.
As you would expect the careful attention to detail extended to the processing. Each recipe called for the minimum of processing and the maximum of caring. As a consequence each product in the Maleny Cuisine range makes a statement about being a clean, pure gourmet condiment, rich in flavour and appeal.
Out of these endeavours the Maleny Cuisine product was borne, produced and marketed locally within the confines of the Sunshine Coast. However as local market acceptance and reputation grew, its demand widened. By the late 90’s the Maleny Cuisine range was available to most of South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
There is uniqueness to the Maleny Cuisine range of condiments. Not only are they of gourmet standard in taste but they are also ideal for those with special dietary requirements as the range contains no gluten, wheat, diary, fish, soy, nuts or eggs. There are no artificial preservatives, flavourings, colourings or thickeners and yet the Maleny Cuisine range still has a shelf life of 20 months.
Maleny Cuisine continues the tradition and the vision of its first two chefs and their recipes, basic culinary philosophies and culture have been embraced and adopted with care in the Maleny Cuisine kitchen of today.
